Memorisation Monday

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:23

We live in the age of entitlement. We think the government owes us something. Our parents owe us something. Our neighbours owe us something. And of course, God owes us something.

But what if that’s not true? On all levels, but particularly on the heavenly one. What if God owes us nothing? And what if we are actually entitled to being consumed by his just wrath?

It’s a totally different way of looking at life. If we are entitled to God’s blessings, then we are victims of his stinginess. But if we are entitled to justice, then we are privileged recipients of his generosity and grace.

Let’s remember the truth today. It’s only because of God’s great love we are not consumed. Thank God his compassions never fail.

  • Say it once before you go to sleep.
  • Say it once more when you wake up.

Pray:
  • Praise the Father for his great love.
  • Give thanks for Jesus who showed compassion to us.
  • Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others see his daily mercy to you.
