Memorisation Monday

“‘“The Lord bless you
    and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you
    and give you peace.”’

Numbers 6:24-26

There are a few memory verses that most Christians know. John 3:16 or maybe the Lord’s Prayer. This verse from Numbers 6 is one of those verses for Israel.

It was a reminder of what it means to be God’s people. It means you are blessed, because God’s face shines on you. He is turned towards you. And if that was true for Israel at that time. How much more true is it for believers in Christ?

In Christ we have every spiritual blessing. And I know there can be moments when it doesn’t feel like God’s face is towards you. But it is. If you trust in Jesus, it is. Memorise this passage today so that you remember the truth.

Tips:
  • Say the passage out loud 10 times in a row.
  • Say it once before you go to sleep.
  • Say it once more when you wake up.

Pray:
  • Praise the Father for sending his Son.
  • Give thanks for Jesus who loved us sacrificially.
  • Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others love him and love each other sacrificially.
