Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”
Hebrews 12:28-29
Uncertainty is at the heart of the human experience. Life can often feel shaky. Health can feel shaky. Family can feel shaky. Work can feel shaky. Which is hard, because we do best when we feel safe, like things aren’t going to change radically on us.
Hebrews reminds us that in the Kingdom of God, through Jesus Christ, we are receiving something that cannot be shaken. It can’t be snatched away and it won’t be there one day then gone the next.
Since we have received this kingdom from our almighty and merciful God, what is the loving, right and good response? Thanksgiving, reverence and awe.

- Say it once before you go to sleep.
- Say it once more when you wake up.
Pray:
- Praise the Father that He is the unshakable God.
- Give thanks for Jesus Christ who won for us an unshakable kingdom.
- Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others worship Him with reverence, awe and thanksgiving.
