The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
Psalm 34:17
There will be troubles in life. Some will be big and some will be small. Some we bring on ourselves. Some are brought on by others. Many will feel out of our control. When these times come we are reminded of our frailty, our weakness, our lack of power.
The great privilege of the Christian is that we are never truly helpless. We are the righteous, declared so by God because of our faith in Jesus Christ. By the grace of God, through the justification of Jesus, we can cry out to our Heavenly Father and know that He hears us.
Now, will He deliver us from our troubles? The Psalmist says so. But how and when? Paul will answer this very question. He himself suffered from trouble, a thorn in the flesh he called it. He trusted and declared that even if God does not immediately rescue us, our hope is in the ultimate deliverance from trouble in the new creation.
If we trust in Jesus. We will be delivered.
Questions/Thoughts/Tips:
Pray: Praise the Father that He hears the prayers of the righteous and delivers them from the trouble of the world. Give thanks for Jesus Christ who earns us the right to pray to the Father and the hope of deliverance. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others cry out to God, putting our hope in the deliverance to come.
