The Resurrection
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1 Peter 1:3
He is risen and we have hope!
We are not like those optimists who despite the evidence imagine that this world will get better. Or those other optimists who live in ‘faith’ that death will be an end and they have nothing to fear.
We are people that live in hope. Because Jesus has been raised from the dead.
Today is a day for celebration. A day for jubilation. Do you see it?
Whatever happens in this life. Though you might suffer loss. Though you might sacrifice much. Maybe you had a hard life. The resurrection shines a light across the dark valleys of life.
Because it means eternal life with God. In His glorious Kingdom. With our Saviour & King, Jesus Christ. With new bodies. With each other. Where we will praise Him in joy and love as we enjoy the new creation.
So stand firm and live in hope. For He is Risen!
For Today:
Pray: Praise the Father that He is the God of mercy who gives hope to sinners through the resurrection of Christ. Give thanks for Jesus Christ who earned our hope through His death and life. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others stand firm and live in hope with eyes fixed on the resurrection.
