Memorisation Monday

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling

Philippians 2:12

Is salvation simply a matter of believing or even ‘making a decision for Christ’? Paul reminds us that salvation is a matter of ongoing faith.

We must continue to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. The Christian sees even more clearly the significance of who Jesus is, how much He hates sins, how much He loves righteousness.

The Christian sees how terrible is the reality of hell and how wonderful the reality of heaven. The Christian sees how glorious God is and how worthy of their faithful trust and obedience.

And so, the Christian, continues to work out and work on their faith daily, that they would please Jesus, make sure of their eternal destination and bring glory to the one who deserves it.

Questions/Thoughts/Tips:
  • Say the passage out loud 10 times in a row.
  • Say it once before you go to sleep.
  • Say it once more when you wake up.

Pray: Praise the Father that He is glorious and worthy of our reverence. Give thanks for Jesus Christ who bought our salvation with His blood. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others work out their salvation with fear and trembling.
