Memorisation Monday

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Philippians 2:12-13

Our salvation is not simply a matter of believing in God until we die. We have been saved in order to love God and love people. This is God’s good purpose for us and His people.

This is the will and act of God, to save people for His Son who live out His good purposes.

Paul’s hope and prayer is that even when he is absent, they will continue to obediently, lovingly and joyfully act for God’s cause.

Questions/Thoughts/Tips:
  • Say the passage out loud 10 times in a row.
  • Say it once before you go to sleep.
  • Say it once more when you wake up.

Pray: Praise the Father for His good purposes which He works out through us. Give thanks for Jesus who lovingly and joyfully endured the cross for the sake of God’s plan. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others lovingly and joyfully act according to God’s purposes.
