3 We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.

2 Thessalonians 1:3

Two weeks ago a bunch of us were able to spend a weekend together at Church Camp. It was a wonderful time of coming together to look at the Bible and what the Bible says about the Bible as well as a helpful time of getting to know one another better.

I’m writing this a few days afterwards and it’s given me an opportunity to give thanks to God for our time together and I thought I would share some of that thanksgiving with you.

I’m so thankful for Jesus. That He has united us in His death and resurrection. That we and our kids can know the God of the universe and know His love, grace and truth in Jesus.

I’m so thankful that His Spirit has brought us together as a Church. That we, though different, can come together in shared belief and love. I’m thankful that we were able to express that by working together to understand the Scriptures and know God better.

I’m thankful that Jesus was glorified as we listened, as we read, as we prayed, as we cooked and cleaned and as we get to know each other better.

I’m so thankful for our Church Camp and for all of you.
I encourage you to give thanks too.

For Today:
  • What was your best Church Camp moment?
  • Did Church Camp help you grow? How?
  • What are you thankful for from Church Camp?

Pray: Praise the Father for His grace to His people. Give thanks for Jesus who brings His people together and for His Word. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others give thanks today.
