Day 2 - 14 Days of Prayer
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
James 5:16
Today we move to confession.
One thing we can be certain of is that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. If you got out of bed today, you probably either did something or didn’t do something to love God and love your neighbour. Let’s remember that. Sin isn’t just doing the wrong thing. It’s failure to do the right thing.
But 1 John 1:9 reminds us that if we confess our sins as a part of repentance, God will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness through Jesus Christ.
Today, let’s confess our sins to God in prayer.
Spend some time in confession and finish with thanksgiving knowing that where there is repentance, there is forgiveness in Christ.
For Today:
Pray: Almighty God, we acknowledge and confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed; we have not loved you with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength; we have not loved our neighbour as ourselves. Deepen within us our sorrow for the wrong we have done, and the good we have left undone. Lord, you are full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy; there is always forgiveness with you! Restore to us the joy of your salvation; bind up that which is broken, give light to our minds, strength to our wills, and rest to our souls. Speak to each of us, and let your word abide with us until it has wrought in us your holy will. Amen.

For Today:
- Confess your sins to God.
- Is there a sin you should confess to another brother/sister in Christ to support you?
- Reflect on God’s forgiveness today.
