Day 3 - 14 Days of Prayer

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

The Scripture says it all. Today let’s give thanks.
But let’s remember what we can give thanks for.

We live by God’s grace. He made us. Every breath we take, every morning we wake up is by the grace of God.

We are saved by grace. God’s kindness to sinners was to send His only Son to save us from condemnation and grant us eternal life. You were destined for hell, but you have been saved!

We have been adopted as children of God. God didn’t save us to a neutral state. He raises us up with Christ as His loved children. We receive the inheritance of Christ and even share in His glory through His Kingdom work.

This is why we can give thanks in all circumstances.

For Today:
  • Spend some time today in thanksgiving.
  • Again, write a list of things to be thankful for.
  • Reflect on God’s grace today.

Pray: “O Heavenly Father”
I thank You for the soul You have created,
For adorning it, for sanctifying it,
Though it is fixed in barren soil;
For the body You have given me,
For preserving its strength and vigor,
For providing senses to enjoy delights,
For the ease and freedom of limbs,
For hands, eyes, ears that do Your bidding;
For Your royal bounty providing my daily support,
For a full table and overflowing cup,
For appetite, taste, sweetness,
For social joys of relatives and friends,
For ability to serve others,
For a heart that feels sorrows and necessities,
For a mind to care for my fellow-men,
For opportunities of spreading happiness around,
For loved ones in the joys of heaven,
For my own expectation of seeing You clearly.
I love You above the powers of language to express,
For what You are to Your creatures.
Increase my love, O my God, through time and eternity.”
