Day 6 - 14 Days of Prayer

9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.

Colossians 1:9-12

We are praying to see 250 people at Village Church by 2030 who grow, gather, give and go, in love and joy to the glory of God.

What do we mean by grow? Well, the passage above is helpful. To be a Christian is to be born again. And like infants we all need to grow in knowledge, wisdom and understanding.

But the knowledge we need is of God and His will. We grow in this knowledge through the Scriptures and knowing God deeply through them.

So let’s pray today that God works in us to become a people who joyfully and lovingly read God’s words to us and that we would grow to be mature children of God.

For Today:
  • Are you growing in your knowledge of God?
  • Do you joyfully and lovingly read the Scriptures?
  • Ask God to help you and others today.

Pray: Pray through Colossians 1:9-12. Pray for our Bible Studies - that they would be spaces where we grow in our knowledge of God. Pray for our Sunday Gatherings - that we would be taught and learn about Jesus. Pray for Village Church - that we would joyfully and lovingly know God and His will more deeply through the Scriptures.
