Day 12 - 14 Days of Prayer
5 Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
you make my lot secure.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
11 You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:5-11
We are praying to see 250 people at Village Church by 2030 who grow, gather, give and go, in love and joy to the glory of God.
One thing we could all do with a little more of is joy. But where do we find joy? How do we get more of it?
For our world - the answer is a change of scenery, a change of jobs, more things or better things. But what if joy can be found without a change in our immediate circumstances.
What if all we need to do is to turn to God and find joy. This is what the Psalmist does. Seeing what he has in God, his heart is glad. Let’s turn to God today in prayer and be reminded of what we have in Jesus even as we ask God to help us see and know joy.
For Today:
Pray:
Heavenly Father,
In the midst of life's challenges, we come before You,
Seeking an overflow of joy in our hearts
Lord, You are the source of true joy,
Grant us the gift of an unshakeable joy that surpasses circumstances.
In the moments of weariness and sorrow,
Remind us of Your promises and the hope we have in You.
Renew our spirits, Holy Spirit,
Fill us with the joy that comes from knowing You intimately
May our lives be a testament to Your joy,
Radiating positivity, gratitude, and a contagious enthusiasm.
Help us to find joy in serving others,
As we reflect the joy you have in yourself to a joyless world.
In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen.
you make my lot secure.
