Day 13 - 14 Days of Prayer

9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” 11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.

Revelation 6:9-11

We are praying to see 250 people at Village Church by 2030 who grow, gather, give and go, in love and joy to the glory of God.

But we don’t want to be ignorant or uncaring of what is happening across the world. In many countries Christians are being persecuted for their faith. From simply different treatment to torture and death, it has never been more dangerous to be a believer in Jesus.

Today, let’s pray that God would be those who suffer deeply for His name and let’s pray that God’s Kingdom would come.

Here is a list of countries you could pray for:

For Today:
  • Pray that God would comfort those who suffer for Christ.
  • Pray that God would change hearts and minds - softening them to the gospel.
  • Pray that Jesus would come soon.

Pray:
Gracious Lord,
We lift up to You our brothers and sisters who face persecution for their faith,
Those who bear the weight of oppression and endure hardships for the sake of Christ.
Father, strengthen their spirits in the face of adversity,
Comfort them in their moments of pain and loss,
And let Your presence be a shield around them.
Grant them courage to stand firm in their convictions,
And perseverance to continue proclaiming Your name.
May their faith be a beacon of light in the darkest of places,
Drawing others to the saving grace found in Jesus.
Lord, we pray for justice and protection for persecuted Christians,
And we ask for their deliverance from all forms of persecution
Even as we trust in the ultimate deliverance of Christ’s return and the new creation.
In Jesus' mighty name, we intercede for them.
Amen.
