S.O.S.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

Ephesians 1:18-19

I remember when we first launched Village Church. It was during the second NSW COVID lockdown. What does it look like to start a Church online? We didn’t know. How long would we be in lockdown? How would God bring us together? And was it worth all the pain and struggle?

Well, the answer is, He knew and it was/is. And we just need help to see it.

Two years later, we have grown in number and as followers of Jesus. But there are still obstacles and trials and struggles. How will we keep going? How will we keep growing? How will we keep serving and turning up when it’s hard?

Paul says, we just need bigger eyes to see. The hope to which He has called us. The inheritance we have. His power. They are like the sun. So big and glorious that without help we can barely behold its wonders.

But He can give us eyes to see. And when we do see. Not only can we keep going. We can do it confidently and joyfully.

For Today:
  • What are you finding hard about Church?
  • What have you seen God do in the past two years?
  • Pray that God would open the eyes of your heart wider.

Pray:
Praise the Father for the hope we have and the glorious inheritance we look forward to. Give thanks for Jesus Christ who gives us our hope and shares with us His inheritance. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to open the eyes of our hearts to see what we have in Him and each other more clearly.
