Memorisation Monday
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
Philippians 2:5-9
We are memorising Philippians 2:5-11. It’s an incredibly important passage of Scripture. Thought to be one of the earliest pieces of oral history, this articulation of the gospel is rich in theological gold.
After the humblest of humiliations, Christ is exalted to the highest place imaginable. From being nailed to the cross to a throne at the right hand of the Father. From a name ridiculed and scorned to the name above every name.
Having been brought low, let’s fix our eyes upward to where Christ is and remember that we get to serve the name above all names.
Questions/Thoughts/Tips:
Pray:
Praise the Father for His faithfulness in the exaltation of Christ. Give thanks for Jesus who is our glorious King. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others follow Christ as King.
