S.O.S.

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Ephesians 5:1

Love is a way of life for God’s people. In Ephesians 1 & 3, Paul reminds us that God’s love for His people is like the ocean. So deep, so wide and vast that it surpasses knowledge. We were because of and into this love. Now, we live under the banner of Christ, loving God & people. We aim to love as we have been loved.

However, that’s where things get tricky don’t they. What does love look like in any given situation? Love is complex. Loving people is complex. But sometimes it’s relatively simple too. So for today - let’s consider, what might it look like to walk in the way of love?

Here are a few thoughts:

1. Sending a text to encourage someone or even making a phone call.
2. Spending time in prayer - with God’s work & others in mind.
3. Sorting your week to prioritise things/people that matter most.
4. Study a book that helps you love God/people more.
5. Serve others in love by helping them in some way.
6. Slow down and rest so that you can keep loving God/people more.

For Today:

• Pick two things off this list to do today.
• Ask God to help you see His love for you more clearly.
• Ask God to help you walk in the way of love every day.

Pray:
Praise the Father for the depths of His love. Give thanks for the love of Jesus Christ who died for us. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others walk in the way of Christ’s love.
