Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name, and glory in your praise.”
1 Chronicles 16:35
A mate of mine was drowning. He had a seizure in the ocean and was in big trouble. A lady noticed and swam over, followed by some others. He was going under. But they got him onto the beach and he was taken to hospital. He was safe because this lady literally saved his life. When my mate got her contact details and called her, what do you think he said...
The natural response to salvation and deliverance is thanksgiving.
And this isn’t the token thankyou we might give to the person who gives us space to change car lanes. Or the thanks we might give to the waitperson who brings us our food at a cafe. This is overwhelming gratitude. Because what we have received is our very lives.
And so much more right. In Jesus we have been saved from eternal torment. Take a moment to dwell on that. We have been saved to eternal life with God. Dwell on that. We have hope, we get to know God, we have a community we get to be a part of, we have a purpose in life and so much more… dwell on that.
So give thanks today. Not for food, not for a roof over your head or a good job. But give thanks for salvation.
For Today:
Pray:
Praise the Father that He has given us mercy and grace in Jesus Christ. Give thanks for Jesus who died for our salvation. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others be truly thankful for what we have received in Christ.

- What are you most thankful for in life?
- How could we be more thankful for salvation?
- Take time to truly give more than token thanks for what we have in Christ.
