TGIF
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Many people spend a lot of time wrestling with ‘God’s will for their lives’. What does He want me to do? What job, who should I marry, where should I live etc. But the truth is, God’s will is relatively simple.
It’s that we look to Him in all things, rejoicing, praying and giving thanks in all circumstances. Job or no job. Dream job or boring job. Bad day/good day. Married or single. In the good and the bad.
All circumstances. One thing I notice about my own life. I’m good at giving thanks and rejoicing when I see good things happening. Or to put it another way, when God’s will seems to be aligning with my will!
But the truth is, because of Jesus. Even when God’s will turns out to be a bad day for me. I need to see that I always have reasons to give thanks and rejoice. No matter what my situation, if I trust in Christ, I am blessed.
Giving thanks in all circumstances isn’t easy, it's a very high bar. But let’s inch toward it today by practicing giving thanks no matter how our Friday goes.
For Today:
Pray:
Praise the Father that in Him and through His grace we are blessed. Give thanks for Jesus Christ who has won for us the blessings of the people of God. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others give thanks today for everything we have in Jesus.

- Do you only thank God when His will aligns with yours?
- What can we always thank God for?
- Give thanks today no matter what your Friday has been like.
