Ephesians Day 4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
Ephesians 1:3
One of my favourite shows is Aussie Gold Hunters. I’m fascinated by these people who spend their lives looking for gold in the extreme Australian bush. What they rarely reveal in the show (for obvious reasons), is where they store the gold.
But one thing you do see is that there are gold thieves. People who go around trying to steal gold. That must be nerve-wracking, going to sleep in the bush with thousands of dollars of gold in your safe.
Paul tells us that our blessing is stored in a particular place. The heavenly realms. Ephesians 2:6 tells us that this is where Christ ascended to and where (in some spiritual sense) we live also. Why is this significant? Well, unlike the vaults of earth where rust & moth destroy, where thieves can steal or where death can ultimately rob, our blessings are secure with our King.
For those in Christ, our blessings can’t be taken away - nothing can separate us from them. Therefore we can live without paranoia or anxiety. In fact, whatever we might lose in this life - we can have joy because of our inheritance waiting for us in the heavenly realms.
For Today:
Pray:
Praise the Father that He is the God of heaven and earth. Give thanks for Jesus Christ who guarantees our blessings through His death and resurrection. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others find confidence in the security of your blessings.

- What have you had stolen from you?
- What do you worry about?
- How does knowing your inheritance is secure help you today?
