Ephesians Day 19
That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
Ephesians 1:19-21
I wonder, have you ever had a moment where you felt like you were passed over for recognition. Maybe it was at home, work or school and you did something really good. But nobody noticed or if they did, they neglected to give you your due.
We’ve all had times like this. Some feel them more than others. But spare a thought for Jesus. God. King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Supreme over all the universe. But on earth, He was and remains mostly despised, ignored or unknown.
We like to talk about how good it is to follow Jesus. In sermons or in our conversations, we emphasise the blessings of having a relationship with Him. And we should.
But we should also never neglect the rightness of giving Jesus His due. There is nothing more right than giving Jesus our worship. There is nothing more wrong than to ignore, despise or treat Him lightly.
We are very good at recognising and feeling injustices toward us. But let us feel this great injustice toward Him. Every person who does not call Him King is failing to give Him His due. Everyone who does not praise and honour Him with their whole life is guilty of the gravest injustice.
Do you feel this? I pray that we would feel it more like we should.
For Today:
Pray:
Praise the Father that He gave Jesus His due. Give thanks for Jesus who is worthy of all blessings and honour. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to be at work in your heart and the people around you to see Jesus for who He is.

For Today:
- What is one injustice that you feel strongly about?
- How do you see Jesus? As the King of Kings?
- How could you give Jesus His due today?
Pray:
Praise the Father that He gave Jesus His due. Give thanks for Jesus who is worthy of all blessings and honour. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to be at work in your heart and the people around you to see Jesus for who He is.
