Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.

Psalm 107:21

We’ve talked a few times about what we give thanks for. And I reckon, most of us are still in the boat of giving thanks most of all for things that make our life easier, safer or more enjoyable.

We thank God for the food He gives. For the shelter. For the friends and family we love. For the job or promotion.

But are they what matter most in life?

These things of course all come from God and we should give thanks for them. However, the one thing we should always give thanks for the most is His unfailing love that led Him to send Jesus to come, live and die for us.

We should thank Him for the great gift and provision of salvation. For the joy of being His people and the purpose of being His witnesses. We should thank Him for the hope of eternal life in the new creation.

Thank Him today for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds toward mankind.

• Do you see what we should be most thankful for?
• Take the time to thank God today for His unfailing love and wonderful deeds.

Pray:
Praise the Father for His unending and perfect love. Give thanks for Jesus Christ and His wonderful deeds for us. Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others give thanks for what matters most.
