Advent - Day 9

      A voice of one calling:
         “In the wilderness prepare
         the way for the LORD;
         make straight in the desert
         a highway for our God.
      Every valley shall be raised up,
         every mountain and hill made low;
         the rough ground shall become level,
         the rugged places a plain.
      And the glory of the LORD will be revealed,
         and all people will see it together.
           For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

Isaiah 40:3-5

Have you ever had something just come together brilliantly? Maybe it was an event you planned or a project you were working on. The satisfaction and joy that comes from something you had been working on for so long and hard. And then, you get to show people. Share that feeling with others.

The birth of Jesus Christ is an event that has been planned since before the creation of the world. The salvation and redemption of a people and a Kingdom for the Son, is the greatest project of all time.

And the birth of the Son, God come in human flesh, is the beginning of the ultimate moment. It’s the entrance of the Warrior-King to slay the beast. The Sheriff to bring order to anarchy. The hero come to save when hope was almost lost.

And it’s going to be glorious. Both in action and completion. What a joy it is to behold.

But before that moment. Before Batman can arrive, there must be Robin. Before the Sheriff, we meet His Deputy. John the Baptist will come and make a path for the greater one to come. That’s the plan. And it all happened, just as God spoke through Isaiah.

For Today:
  • What’s a plan you have completed?
  • Do you marvel at God’s plan?
  • Give God praise today for His great plan for redemption.

Pray:
Praise the Father that He is the Sovereign Lord.
Give thanks for Jesus who is obedient to the Father and does all things according to His plans.
Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others see the marvellous plan of God.
