Advent - Day 28
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

It’s Christmas Day!
One thing I associate with Christmas is lists. Lists of presents. Food to buy. Jobs to do. What about a list of all the things Jesus’ birth means (in no particular order):
Today is just another day. But in another sense it is more. It’s a day when we remember all that it meant when God came to earth to be Jesus Christ, our Savior & King. As you enjoy (or don’t) the festivities, the family and the friends. Let’s remember what today truly means.
Hope you have a great Christmas day.

It’s Christmas Day!
One thing I associate with Christmas is lists. Lists of presents. Food to buy. Jobs to do. What about a list of all the things Jesus’ birth means (in no particular order):
- God, the Creator, exists
- God cares about us and our world
- God is powerful (how do you incarnate!?)
- God is holy (He is not just a big version of us)
- God is humble (He comes as one of us)
- God can sympathise with us as humans (Jesus suffers)
- We can know God (He has revealed Himself)
- Life has meaning and purpose
- There is hope in the world
- God is glorious (see above)
Today is just another day. But in another sense it is more. It’s a day when we remember all that it meant when God came to earth to be Jesus Christ, our Savior & King. As you enjoy (or don’t) the festivities, the family and the friends. Let’s remember what today truly means.
Hope you have a great Christmas day.
For Today:
- What would you add to the list?
- Reflect on one or two of the points above. What do they mean for you?
- Praise God and give thanks for Jesus and all it means that He came in the flesh.
Pray:
- Praise the Father that He is God and that He is glorious.
- Give thanks for Jesus for all that it means that He came to be one of us.
- Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others see the wonderful significance of Christmas.
