Psalm 145:17-19

The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does.
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
He hears their cry and saves them.
Psalm 145:17-19

A feeling that most Christians experience is that feeling that God is far from us. Have you ever felt that? Do you feel that right now?

It’s understandable. In some sense. God is far from us. Because He is a God and we are human. Because He is invisible and we are flesh/material. Because He is outside of time and we are in it.

But the Psalmist proclaims a great and wondrous truth. God is also near to us. He is faithful to His promise to be with His people. He has come near most obviously in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

In Jesus, who became flesh and one of us. To draw us near to Him.
In the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

It’s a question we constantly need to ask ourselves. What is more true? My feelings - or God’s promises. God has proved Himself to be faithful. My feelings often mislead me.

I pray that you would trust in God’s faithfulness today that He is near and even with you - no matter what you are facing.

Pray:
  • Praise the Father for His faithfulness.
  • Praise the Son who has come near to us in Jesus.
  • Praise God for the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.
