Rules to Life

10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

15 All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things.

Philippians 3:10-15

Ok, so hopefully last week you got motivated to ride with Jesus. To persist and pursue the finish line of a greater race than the Tour de France, life itself. But the mistake would be to ride like that kid in their first race, sprinting only to fall in a heap at the first hill.

How do we last the distance?

Well, I like Jeremy Linneman’s suggestion. Rather than making goals, make ‘Rules of Life’. I’m actually going to keep this short. No need for me to reinvent the wheel. Instead, let me point you to his article that says it all.

Have a read and see what you come up with!

For Today:
  • Read the article!
  • Carve out 1 hour to reflect on some rules for your life.
  • Share your rules with someone else!

Pray:
  • Praise the Father that He never fails or falls short of His rules for life.
  • Give thanks that Jesus Christ did not fail in His purpose.
  • Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others be strengthened as you live for His purposes.
