S.O.S.
See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.
Hebrews 3:12-13
I love animal documentaries. The way God has created is fascinating. Take ants or bees, they work together for the good of each other, for the good of the nest. It’s collective responsibility. Seems very sensible!
Despite how we often work humans too have been tasked with collective responsibility. Our common goal: holding each other firmly to our original conviction, to faith and belief in the living God.
We aren’t simply individuals left to our own. We were designed to work together for God’s purposes. Specifically, to resist the hardening of sin. But how do we do that?
Well, the primary way is by gathering together for mutual encouragement. On a Sunday, and throughout the week. Daily engaging with one another, reminding each other of sin's deceitfulness and God’s goodness. We need each other for this.
I’ve always loved this image. A sailing ship alone can easily lose its way. But a ship in a fleet will likely stay the course. You need others and others need you.
For Today:

For Today:
- How have you been encouraged in the past by God’s people?
- What is one way you could encourage someone else to resist sin today?
Pray:
- Praise the Father for the gift of His people and our design.
- Give thanks for Jesus, our true Shepherd who cares for His sheep.
- Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others strengthen one another to reject sin and follow Jesus.
