Wisdom Wednesday
Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
Luke 12:22-26
Do we live in the age of worry? It certainly feels like it. People have probably said this in every generation. For most of us, we don’t worry where the next meal will come from - but how nutritious or organic our diet is. We don’t worry about having enough clothes, we worry about if they are fashionable. The principle, however, holds true.
So here is the question. How much time do you spend thinking about these things? And why? Does worrying about them help you? Does it actually make life better? I think the answer in most situations is no.
The joy of knowing God is that we don’t have to worry about these things. Not just because God says He will provide. But also, because the reality of God in Jesus reminds us that these things don’t matter that much.
This points us to wisdom. Wisdom then means that we can avoid expensive trends. In food, clothing, holidays and more. Without feeling like we are missing out.
For Today:

For Today:
- What’s one thing you worry about that maybe you shouldn’t?
- What does it look like to trust God in this area?
- Reflect on times where God has cared for you in the past.
Pray:
- Praise God for His power and providence, caring for His creation.
- Give thanks that He has provided for our deepest needs in Christ.
- Ask God to help you and others trust in His care and be free from worry.
