Memorisation Monday

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Psalm 51:10

King David has been confronted with the depths of his own sin. Have you ever had a moment like that? I know the feeling all too well. It’s that sinking feeling. Of shame. Guilt. Frustration. Helplessness. It’s terrible.

But what do we do in the midst of that feeling? What should we do? David shows us the way. We turn to God who has forgiven us in Christ and we ask Him to give us a clean heart. To bring renewal to our spirits so that we would pursue holiness.

Tips:

• Write down the passage
• Say it out loud 10 times
• Say it once at night before you go to sleep

Pray:

• Praise God the Father that He is pure and holy. 
• Give thanks for Christ who cleanses us from sin and shame by His blood. 
• Ask God for His Holy Spirit to be at work in you and others to renew our spirit to pursue holiness.
