I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge
1 Corinthians 1:4-5
There are moments in life that you just feel privileged to witness. I was at the Olympic Stadium in 2000 when Cathy Freeman won her gold. I was at the same stadium to watch Australia beat Uruguay on penalties to finally get into the World Cup. These are both moments I give thanks to God that I could just be there. But as I reflect, these moments pale in comparison to something else I’ve been privileged to witness.
For many years I was a youth pastor. Every Friday night dozens of kids would come to have fun and hopefully hear something of the good news about Jesus. Youth work can often be hard work. It’s noisy. It’s messy. But it can also provide a wonderful picture of God’s grace.
Over the years, several young people became Christians. Some became leaders. Some remain trusting in Christ today. Watching young people turn from sin to Christ is a greater privilege than watching a gold medal race or even the greatest football game. You have witnessed God’s grace at work and it’s remarkable.
I hope you have had or get to witness this in your lifetime. If you haven’t, pray that you would. If you have, give thanks that you got to witness God’s power at work.
For Today:

For Today:
- What’s one event you feel privileged to have witnessed?
- Have you ever witnessed someone become a Christian?
- Ask God to work powerfully in the lives of people around you and gives thanks that you get to witness His glory.
Pray:
- Praise the Father for His marvellous power.
- Give thanks for Christ who gives new life to the spiritually dead.
- Ask God, that His Holy Spirit would be at work in you and others to help see His power at work.
