Memorisation Monday

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:23-24

Few verses proclaim the gospel so succinctly. All have sinned. All who are justified are so by grace alone and Christ alone. It’s worth breaking down a little.

Sinned → none live up to the standard of goodness that God created us for and demands of His creation. In our sin we do not glorify Him as we should, a cosmic wrong.

Justified → for those who put their trust in Christ, our lawlessness and failure is considered forgiven, we are instead declared justified by God.

Free Grace → God’s decision to declare just those who trust in Jesus is His free choice. He need not have done it, but in His mercy, He chooses to.

Savour the grace of God in Jesus Christ by memorising this verse.

Tips:
  • Write down the passage
  • Say it out loud 10 times
  • Say it once at night before you go to sleep

Pray:
  • Praise the Father for His free grace to sinners.
  • Give thanks that you have been declared justified by the redemptive blood of Christ.
  • Ask God for His Holy Spirit to extend His grace to more and more people.
