TGIF

It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it.

3 John 1:3

I’m a truth kind of guy.  My wife and I enjoy watching those TV series ‘based on a true story’. When we do. It’s fairly standard that I will find myself googling the historical inaccuracies. I want to know the truth. Actually, I think most of us do.

Thankfully, the truth is out there (X-Files anyone!?). I look forward to spending eternity finding out the truth about things!

One of the great gifts of the Christian faith is a confidence that we have ‘the truth’. Jesus claims to be ‘the truth’ and He has proof that He’s telling the truth in His resurrection from the dead.

I love Google. But Google, Microsoft, CHATGPT, all of these things get stuff wrong. But God… He is truth. Therefore we can trust that He tells us THE truth. About God, life, ourselves and the world.

What a wonderful gift. That means we can have confidence in how to live. Confidence in what is good/bad. Confidence in what the future holds and most of all, confidence in our salvation.

Give thanks for the truth today.

For Today:
  • Do you like to know the truth?
  • What’s one truth you look forward to knowing in eternity.
  • Give thanks that we can know the truth about so much today.

Pray:
  • Praise the Father who is the truth and speaks truth.
  • Give thanks for Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth and the life.
  • Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others trust in the truth.
