S.O.S.

I delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,

Isaiah 61:10

Imagine being a cleaner to a King. You come in every day to dust down the royal apartments. It takes you the whole day just to do the walk-ins (wardrobes). One day, you notice the Royal Robe is hanging on its hook. You can’t help yourself. You try it on. How different it makes you feel. Like you are a new person. Like royalty.

Isaiah delights in the Lord for He has been clothed in the white robe of salvation and righteousness. All humans appear before the Lord in the rags and filthy garments of sin. We are nothing because of our iniquity. Yet in Jesus, we have been clothed in Christ’s clothes. We aren’t pretending or playing. In God’s eyes, the robe maketh the man/women. We are righteous royalty.

What a great reason for our souls to rejoice in the Lord.

For Today:
  • Do you see yourself as clothed in salvation?
  • How should we feel to be robed in righteousness?
  • How could you celebrate that today?

Pray:
  • Praise the Father that He is a righteous God who is robed in glorious light.
  • Give thanks that Jesus came to clothe sinners in His righteousness and salvation.
  • Ask God to help you and others rejoice in your new spiritual clothes.
