Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
James 1:23-25
Do you ever wonder what life would look like if God hadn’t brought you to Christ? For many of us who have been Christians for a long time - it’s a hard thought. I know for myself, I have no doubts that my selfishness, pride, anger and laziness (all of which I had no desire to change) would have caused me some significant problems.
It is by God’s kindness that He has changed me. Helping me to love others and to flee selfishness, to realise that I’m nowhere near as great as I think I am, to grow in patience and in godly ambition which fights against laziness.
Has God changed you?
We have been set free from slavery to sin so that we can live a better life. A life of light and love. I can say this for sure. Jesus has made me a better man, a better husband, a better father, a better brother and a better citizen. And for that I am thankful today.
Are you new to Christ and can’t see a great change? Trust in Him and follow His ways - you will! Have you been a Christian a long time but can’t see a change? Maybe someone else can. Ask someone who has known you for a long time if they have seen Jesus change you.
If the answer is still - no. Then come to God on your knees and ask Him to make you more like Jesus - there’s a prayer God will answer. But for most of us, we can be thankful. Thankful that Jesus has changed us for the better.
For Today:
Pray:

- Give thanks for His work in you.
Pray:
- Praise the Father that He is all-knowing and good and His ways are better.
- Give thanks for Jesus who shows us how to live a better life and saves us so that we can.
- Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others live a life that is good, light and love.
