Go Pt. 2
Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Revelation 21:1-4
On Tuesday we imagined the terrible reality that is hell. Today - it’s time to do the opposite. Let’s imagine heaven. Because we don’t just tell people about Jesus to avoid hell, but so that they won’t miss out on what God has in store for His people.
Now, I’ve already used the word. But as Revelation reminds us, it’s not heaven in the clouds. It’s a new heaven (sky) and new earth. It’s a new creation. Just like this creation - only new.
Do you like new? I do. I am so excited to see what new looks like. What does new ocean look like? Or new mountains? Or new stars? Or new animals? What is a new body going to be like? What about a completely new heart that doesn’t ever sin? Wow.
What’s it going to be like to meet Jesus face to face and to be with God… alway. Sometimes, even today, I feel distant from Him. I feel like He is not with me (even though I know He is). How good will it be to never feel like that. It’s going to be incredible.
I don’t want people to miss out on knowing the completeness, the totality, the fullness of joy that the new creation will be. I want to see them in it! Don’t you?
So, we need to go. We need to encourage people to check out Jesus. Yes, so they might avoid hell through trusting in Him. But also, so that they might enjoy the new heavens and new earth forever.
For Today:
Pray:

For Today:
- Reflect on heaven today.
- If you didn’t on Tuesday - write a list of those close to you who need to know Him.
- Invite someone to Church or to have a coffee with you and ask them what they think about Jesus.
Pray:
- Praise the Father that He is abundantly generous.
- Give thanks for Jesus Christ who shares His inheritance of a new creation with us.
- Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others rejoice in the hope of a new creation and share that hope with others.
