“In your anger do not sin” Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
and do not give the devil a foothold.
Ephesians 4:26-27
Speaking with a lot of people, anger is a common problem. But a bigger problem than anger - is brooding. That’s what Paul is talking about here in Ephesians I think.
You know, you’ve had a fight with someone, you walk away and you are still fuming. The anger cools but it hardens. You let your mind rehearse all the wrongs done to you. You conveniently ignore all the ways you might have contributed.
Paul’s encouragement? Don’t give the devil a foothold for sin. Ask God to help you calm your mind and see things rightly. Remember the mercy you have received from God and ask yourself - what does love look like?
Tips:
Pray:
and do not give the devil a foothold.
