S.0.S.
Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus,
To all God’s holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons:
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now
Philippians 1:1-4
Our prayer at Village Church is to see 10% of the Northern Suburbs in gospel-centred Churches. Why is that our prayer? Why specifically those words? Well, it’s because we didn’t want to be a Church plant that just thinks about itself.
We didn’t want to come in and act like we are the only Church around that proclaims Jesus. Because we aren’t. Praise God, there are some faithful God-glorifying Churches in the Northern Suburbs.
I’m so thankful for the other pastors and members of the gospel-centred Churches in our area. I’m thankful for their programs that benefit not only their own members but some of ours and their kids. I’m thankful for their impact in the community.
We aren’t about one Church at the expense of others. Instead, we want to see more people come to Jesus and grow as faithful followers of Him. And so like Paul, this brings us to prayer.
We can’t (and don’t think we should) directly affect what happens in the Churches around us. We want to pray for them. Give thanks to God for them and ask Him to be at work in them - helping them to do Kingdom work for His sake.
Let’s do that today.
For Today:

For Today:
- Have you been encouraged or served by another Church in some way?
- How do you feel about other Churches in our area? Why?
- Pray for the Churches of the Northern Suburbs.
Pray:
- Praise the Father that He is the God of the Church.
- Give thanks for Jesus Christ who has united us with other believers in the Northern Suburbs and around the world.
- Ask God for His Holy Spirit to grow Jesus’ Churches through the gospel.
