Memorisation Monday

If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.

Mark 9:43

Here is a hard truth. But an important one. There are many pleasures in this life. Many pursuits and satisfactions to be found. Distractions and sinful desires that wage war on our soul. But are any of them so good that we would choose them over heaven?

What is causing you to stumble? What is distracting you from seeing Jesus more clearly? Is it really worth even the smallest possibility of hell? Let this memory verse help you as you wrestle with what needs to be cut off in life.

Tips:

• Say the passage out loud 10 times in a row.
• Say it once before you go to sleep.
• Say it once more when you wake up.

Pray: 

• Praise the Father that He is a forgiving God. 
• Give thanks for Jesus who forgives our sins and restores us to God’s original purpose. 
• Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others cut off anything that would cause you to stumble.
