S.O.S.
Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds perched in its branches.”
Again he asked, “What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”
Luke 13:18-21
There really is nothing like watching something grow. Whether it’s a batch of dough, a passionfruit vine or a goldfish. It’s a remarkable thing.
As Jesus says, the Kingdom of God is something that grows. Much like these other examples, it grows silently and slowly. But it is always spreading, always growing. And one of the great privileges of life is watching the Kingdom of God grow in our midst.
For me, this is absolutely true of Village Church. Whether on a Sunday or throughout the week. Watching and hearing as people trust in Jesus in every kind of circumstance. Observing as they resist sin and pursue good, even when it costs them. Seeing sacrifice and generosity as God’s people serve each other with whatever God has given them.
This is the greatest privilege. Do you see it? Do you see God’s Kingdom spreading and growing amongst us? Do you see it in you and in others? Look for it and you will find it. Ask about it and you will hear.
For Today:

For Today:
- How has God been at work in you recently?
- Ask someone how God has been growing them.
- Give thanks and praise to God for His growing Kingdom.
Pray:
- Praise the Father that He grows His Kingdom.
- Give thanks for Jesus Christ who establishes His Kingdom.
- Ask God for His Holy Spirit to grow the Kingdom of God in us and amongst us.
