Memorisation Monday

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

Romans 8:28-29

Many have memorised that God works all things for the good of those who love him. But many forget the next bit. How do we know what the shape of that good is?

God’s idea of good is Jesus, the image of His Son. That’s what He is working towards. Many brothers and sisters who look like Jesus. Not exactly like Jesus but faithful like Jesus. People who think, feel and act like Jesus in their own contexts.

This is the good God is about. Which may not be the same as our version of good.

Tips:
  • Say the passage out loud 10 times in a row.
  • Say it once before you go to sleep.
  • Say it once more when you wake up.

Pray:
  • Praise the Father that He is Almighty and has the power to work things to good.
  • Give thanks for Jesus who shows us what the good life looks like.
  • Ask God for His Holy Spirit to help you and others be conformed to Christ.
