Matthew 1:1-17

Jesus is the Son of David, the Son of Abraham. A King of royal line but more importantly the fulfilment of all God's promises to Israel and even all the nations. His genealogy reveals something of His Kingdom. Men, women (surprisingly), Jews and Gentiles, all sinners (some much worse than others). Jesus came to save people just like those in His family tree. People like us. He saves sinners, but makes us into something greater. Children of God and citizens of His Kingdom.
