Living Grounded: sheol, suffering & satan, missing teachings of Jesus & laws of nature
Questions:
1. What is Sheol?
2. Does God allow Satan to send suffering our way in order to deepen our trust in God? Job is the prime example of this and I am wondering if God uses Satan for our own good at times?
3. At the end of John it says that Jesus did many other things that weren’t recorded. My concern is that what if these things were important teachings of Jesus, if in which we aren’t aware of, may directly affect or damage our relationship with God. Does it matter if the Gospel writers didn’t record everything Jesus said? Is what he said enough?
4. How do we reconcile Laws of nature such as the Law of Conservation of Mass (energy cannot be created or destroyed) with our God who does create and destroy? If the Law is true, does that mean the Heavens and Earth were always created? For example, they began as energy, as the Law puts it, and then were changed into another form? God obviously created these Laws which means he is outside of them. So does that mean those Laws only apply for everyone who is not God? You feel me?
